Pedestrian killed - Palmerston

The Northern Territory road toll has risen to 14 following the death of a 46-year-old male pedestrian.

A vehicle collided with the pedestrian on Roystonea Avenue near the Palmerston Bus Exchange around 10:50 yesterday morning. Medical assistance was rendered to the pedestrian however they passed away at the scene.

The 28-year-old male driver is assisting detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit with their enquiries.

Investigations continue.

Superintendent Neil Hayes said, "Tragically another person has died on our roads. It has been a terrible way to lead into Fatality Free Friday. We ask all road users - drivers, pedestrians, and others - to take extra care on the roads today and going forward. Let's make every day fatality free."
