Pedestrian struck by car at Smithfield Plains, SA

An elderly pedestrian was injured in a crash at Smithfield Plains this morning, according to SA Police.

Just before 11.30am on Wednesday 26 October, the pedestrian was on the footpath on Coventry Road, Smithfield Plains when he was struck by a black Subaru coupe.

The injured man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The driver of the Subaru was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police are investigating whether an alleged road rage incident between the Subaru and a black Nissan Navara ute occurred prior to the collision.

Police will be speaking with both drivers as part of the investigation into the incident.
