Pedestrian Struck by Taxi in Rozelle, Police Probe

An investigation is underway after a pedestrian had been hit by a taxi in Sydney's Inner West last night.

Just after 9pm yesterday (Thursday 25 September 2025), emergency services were called to Victoria Road, Rozelle, following reports of a man had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command were told a 61-year-old man was crossing the pedestrian on Victoria Road, when a silver Lexus taxi turned right into the Victoria Road from Darling Street and hit the man.

The driver – a 56-year-old man – exited and assisted the pedestrian.

The older man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

The taxi driver was subjected to a roadside breath test, returned with a negative result.

He is assisting police with their inquiries.

A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command, with the assistance from Crash Investigation Unit, commenced an investigation into the incident.
