Pedestrian struck by taxi in Waterloo

A woman is in hospital after being struck by a Taxi in Waterloo last night, NSW Police say.

About 11.30pm today emergency services were called to the intersection of McEvoy and Elizabeth Streets, Waterloo, after a pedestrian was struck by a Taxi.

Police have been told a 23-year-old woman was crossing the road in a southerly direction at a set of traffic lights on McEvoy Street, after she was struck by a silver Taxi travelling west.

Officers from Crash investigation unit attended and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The injured woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen a silver Taxi, possibly a Toyota Camry, with significant damage to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
