A man has died in hospital after being struck by a vehicle at Waterloo last week.
About 2pm on Friday (4 June 2021), emergency services were called to Cope Street, near Raglan Street, after reports a male pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Police have been told the pedestrian, an 88-year-old man, was crossing Cope Street when he was allegedly hit by a silver Toyota C-HR sedan, driven by a 64-year-old man.
The pedestrian was treated at the scene before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition. He died on Saturday (5 June 2021).
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit charged the Toyota driver, a 64-year-old man, last week. His licence was suspended, and he remains before the courts.
Investigators are continuing.
