Pedestrian struck van dies in hospital - Casula

A teenager has died in hospital after being struck by a car in Sydney's west earlier this week.

Emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Casula, about 12.40pm on Thursday 7 January 2021 after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a Kia Carnival.

The 17-year-old suffered multiple injuries and was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition, where he died about 2am today (Saturday 9 January 2021).

The driver, a 37-year-old man, was charged over the crash on Thursday (7 January 2021) and remains before the courts.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
