The Waterfront, Shell Cove welcomes a stunning artistic addition and a new talking point for the community with the unveiling of 'Conversations,' a sculpture by acclaimed artist Phillip Piperides.

A clear favourite with the local community during the 2023 PromenART Exhibition, this artwork was permanently installed today at Shellharbour Marina and will bring a vibrant artistic dimension to the heart of Shell Cove.

Inspired by the essence of human connection and interaction, 'Conversations' stands as a testament to the power of dialogue and exchange. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the figurative sculpture captures the dynamic interplay between individuals engaged in meaningful conversation.

"We are thrilled to reintroduce 'Conversations' to the residents and visitors of Shell Cove," said Mayor Chris Homer.

"This beautiful artwork will enrich our marina and foster a sense of unity and belonging within our community. The people voted this piece as their favourite from PromenART 2023 and we are so grateful to artist Phillip Piperides for his exceptional talent and vision."

Funded through by the Shell Cove Project (Shellharbour City Council and Frasers Property Australia), 'Conversations' serves as a symbol of partnership and commitment to cultural enrichment.

"As Shell Cove continues to evolve and grow, the sculpture will remain a cherished landmark, inviting individuals to pause, reflect, and engage in the artistry that surrounds them," Mayor Homer said.

Tina Britton, Community Development Manager, Frasers Property Australia says PromenART is part of the wider placemaking program at The Waterfront, Shell Cove aimed at creating stronger, smarter, happier neighbourhoods that leave a positive legacy.

"We invest in activities that create cohesive, successful communities over the long-term, so our events and activations create opportunities for social connection and build a strong sense of belonging for residents and visitors alike," says Ms Britton.
