Performing the Duties of Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Mara Karlin participated in a trilateral meeting today with Sweden Defence Policy Director Johan Lagerlöf and Finland Deputy Director General for Defence Policy Janne Kuusela.
The three leaders discussed a range of global and regional security challenges facing Europe, to include Russian Federation aggression toward Ukraine. They underscored the importance of security and stability in the Nordic and Baltic region. They also discussed the forthcoming U.S. National Defense Strategy.
