Person Dies After Car Hits Tree - Dubbo

A person has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state's Orana region today.

About 10.50am (Friday 19 December 2025), emergency services were called to the Golden Highway near Mugga View Road, east of Dubbo, following reports of a car crash.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District arrived to find a grey hatchback had hit a tree, causing a grassfire.

The driver died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the crash.

Also in attendance were NSW Ambulance paramedics, Fire and Rescue NSW, and Rural Fire Service, with fire crews actively working to extinguish the resulting grassfire.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

The Golden Highway is currently closed.
