Local furry friends, their owners, and fans have been chomping at the bit to get back to Willoughby City Council's Pet Festival, after a two-year Covid-induced hiatus.

On 2 April, Artarmon Reserve will host the day of festivities with stalls, food, kids' activities and competitions for pets to test their abilities.

"This is a wonderful free community event for pet owners to socialise their pets and create lasting friendships," Mayor Tanya Taylor said.

"Pets bring so much joy and pet ownership spiked during the pandemic. The simple act of taking the dog out often sparks connection with another member of the community, breaking any sense of isolation."

"The purpose of the festival is to connect and empower owners with workshops and expert advice, whilst allowing their beloved pets to have a great day out".

Enjoy the entertainment arena with host Farmer Dave and performances by Rufftrack. There will be exciting competitions like Temptation Alley, Trick Off, and Open High Jump for pet owners to see how their pup shapes up.

Winners of the 2021 'Archipaws' competition have been featured on two-metre high flags across Chatswood CBD as part of Willoughby Pet Festival celebrations.

The Pet Festival, sponsored by PetO, will run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 2 April.
