Community Safety Officers will be visiting towns across Murrindindi Shire over the coming weeks to follow up on pet registrations and promote responsible pet ownership.
Residents may notice Council vehicles in their area, along with signs advising that officers are currently undertaking registration checks and community education activities.
Pet registration is a legal requirement and helps Council reunite lost pets with their owners, respond effectively to animal-related concerns and support responsible pet ownership across the Shire.
Council has recently contacted pet owners with outstanding registrations via text message and email. If you have received a reminder, now is a good time to ensure your pet's registration is up to date.
