Philips Gardens Irrigation Project

Next week, works to upgrade the existing irrigation system at Phillips Gardens in Maryborough will commence.

The project is thanks to $150,000 in funding from the Victorian Government through their Growing Victoria's Botanic Gardens grants program – announced in February last year.

The Grant will see the existing irrigation system be upgraded to a central control system (Rainbird), with a master valve and flow meter, which will be more sustainable and will reach areas of the Gardens not currently irrigated.

The project is being delivered by Stephen Dell Plumbing (following a public tender process), and is expected to take 12 weeks to complete.

The Gardens will remain open during the duration of the project, however there will be some changes to access at different stages of the project – visitors are asked to please follow directional signage as needed.
