Phone stolen at city supermarket

Melbourne East police are investigating after a phone was stolen from a service counter at a supermarket in Melbourne, Victoria Police say.

Officers have been told a woman walked into the store located on Lonsdale Street, near Swanston Street, about 8am on Tuesday 3 July.

Once inside the premises she attended the front service desk and stole the unattended phone.

She then left the store.

At the time of the offence she was wearing a black beanie, a black running jacket, black tights and black runners.

Police have released images of a woman that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
