Digital visitor permit improvements

Digital permits remain Council's preferred option due to the operational and customer benefits they provide.

In response to customer feedback, Council has been working to introduce additional system features:

  • Co-holder function - now available: Permit holders can share their digital visitor permit with up to 10 trusted users (co-holders). These may include other household residents or trusted visitors such as family members, cleaners, gardeners or babysitters. The co-holder must register for an account, and the permit holder can contact Council to activate the co-holder. A co-holder is then able to update the vehicle registration themselves for the digital visitor permit.
  • Multiple vehicle registrations - coming soon: Ability to save multiple vehicle registrations for regular visitors.
  • Google and Apple account sign-in - coming soon: Residents will be able to sign in using an existing Google or Apple account, reducing the need to create and remember an additional username and password.
  • Updated website and mobile appearance - coming soon: improvements to the online permit experience and interface.

Next steps

  • Council will continue to monitor the implementation of digital permits over the next six months and use that information to inform future decisions.
