Pierre-Mathieu Fortin named Producer at NFB French Program's Documentary Studio

Nathalie Cloutier, Executive Producer of the French Program's Documentary Studio at the National Film Board of Canada, today announced that Pierre-Mathieu Fortin has been appointed to the role of Producer, effective January 6, 2020.

Pierre-Mathieu Fortin's career path:

  • He was co-director of digital creation company BonGolem for many years.
  • In 2008, he became the creative head of digital content at Radio-Canada, where he shepherded a number of award-winning documentaries.
  • In 2011, with NITROFilms, he produced Sarah Fortin's feature documentary Stephen Faulkner: J'm'en va r'viendre, along with many short films.
  • He spent some time in advertising at Sid Lee, where he produced J_VDO, a documentary about the indie video game industry.
  • For URBANIA, he produced comedian Louis T's series of videos about the news (Vérités ou conséquences).
  • In 2017, he partnered with the NFB's Interactive Studio on SMS, a series of short films for digital platforms.
  • At the Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma, he oversaw the 5th edition of Rendez-vous Pro and La Forge, a new training initiative for emerging talent to be unveiled in 2020.
  • He's won numerous Gémeaux and NUMIX awards and also worked as a consultant with various companies and institutions in the cultural sector.
