As of 1 July 2021, Parkes Shire Council will be integrating with the NSW Planning Portal to accept and process development applications online.
Development applications will be submitted online, anywhere, at a time convenient to the applicant via the NSW Planning Portal. This process has been designed to ensure the process is easier and more streamlined for the applicant.
The NSW Planning Portal is a digital space where community, industry and government can work together to better understand and meet their obligations under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The Portal will give more control and transparency to the users over their planning applications.
Director of Planning & Environment Brendan Hayes said, "Council has fully connected with the NSW Planning Portal acknowledging the lodgement process, which plans to a positive impact on overall application process and assessment timeframes.
"The Portal can be used from anywhere, anytime, which certainly opens possibilities and enhances the customer experience.
The Portal will be in use as a compulsory way to lodge development applications as of 1 July 2021.You will need to register a secure login to access the Portal before you begin.
Council is inviting the community to attend an information session on Wednesday 23 June 2021 in the Council Chambers from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.
