Planning of dance party shut down, NSW

Police have shut down a party planned for the long weekend at Jubulum Village, Tabulam.

Over the past week, police from Richmond Local Area Command have been making inquiries to locate a large planned ‘doof party’ that was to occur in the Tabulam area from Saturday 11 June to Monday 13 June 2016.

Following information received, police observed a large scale operation being set up on an Aboriginal reserve in Tabulam.

Police spoke to the Land Council and confirmed that no permission had been given for a dance party to be held upon the land, NSW Police say.

Police attended the site and gave a direction to the organisers regarding trespassing and the ramifications of holding the dance party.

Police will be in attendance at the location tomorrow to enforce the direction and maintain the event closure. The public should be aware that the event will not be going ahead.
