Playground upgrades at George Suttor and Brampton Drive Reserves are now complete.
Works at George Suttor Reserve, in Baulkham Hills, included extending the play area to maximise on space, as well as the installation of new play equipment.
The playground now features some exciting new elements, such as a play unit with slide, train themed play pieces and a swing set, including an adult, toddler and basket swings.
A sandstone wall was also constructed as part of these works, and not only does it look great, it can also act as a seat.
Meanwhile, the works completed at Brampton Drive Reserve, in Beaumont Hills, included the installation of a brand new play unit with slide, a swing set with toddler and basket seats, a net spinner, twin ring line, balance logs and steppers.
New park seating and a bubbler were also installed as part these upgrades.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said the updated play spaces were vital for local residents, especially at this time.
"The COVID-19 pandemic is highlighting how important our open spaces are," Mayor Byrne said.
"While our playgrounds remain open at this current time, I urge residents to continue to be COVID-19 safe. If you do not live within each park's immediate catchment, please postpone testing out the new equipment until the lockdown measures are lifted.
"We have more than 300 parks and reserves in The Hills - some of which will be located close to your home. To find more about these open spaces, visit Council's website [www.thehills.nsw.gov.au].
