Plenty of jobs on offer for Tasmanians

The latest figures released today from the Australian Department of Jobs and Small Business confirm Tasmania has achieved the highest growth in the nation when it comes to online advertisements for job vacancies.

The Internet Vacancy Index (IVI) for November 2018 points to Tasmania experiencing growth of 22.5 per cent in trend terms compared to November last year - which is well above national annual growth of just 0.4 per cent.

Most pleasingly, the Index reported that all three regions of Tasmania saw strong growth in job ads, with a 35 per cent annual increase recorded for Launceston and Northeast Tasmania, and over 20 per cent growth in the North West, Hobart and Southeast Tasmania.

The Hodgman Liberal Government's strong economic management has seen Tasmanian business confidence grow to the highest levels in the country with around 15,100 jobs created since March 2014.

We will continue to deliver on our long term Plan to further drive economic growth and job creation in 2019.
