Noble Park residents will enjoy brighter and greener streets and public spaces under a rejuvenation program backed by the Victorian Government.
Minister for Suburban Development Shaun Leane announced the $1.3 million works in Ian and Frank streets as part of the Noble Park Suburban Revitalisation program.
The Labor Government will invest $680,000 in the Ian Street streetscape project, which will deliver new public lighting, street furniture and landscaping as well as the relocation of powerlines along the retail and dining strip.
The Frank Street project will receive $425,000 from the Government to build a pocket park and create a greener connection between Ross Reserve, Aubrey Moss Memorial Gardens and Copas Park. Featuring landscaping, tables and chairs and a performance platform, the pocket park will provide a place to meet, relax and enjoy Noble Park.
The City of Greater Dandenong is contributing $195,000 towards the projects.
The Suburban Revitalisation program works with regional and local stakeholders to plan and deliver important infrastructure that improves social and economic opportunities and outcomes in key centres across Melbourne.
The Labor Government has invested almost $25 million over the past 12 months into new Suburban Revitalisation projects, partnering with local governments and community organisations across 115 projects to deliver $73.8 million of co-investment in Melbourne's suburbs.
Suburban Revitalisation Boards across Melbourne are driving local investment in Melton, Boronia, Noble Park, Lilydale, Tarneit, Reservoir, Broadmeadows and Frankston. Suburban revitalisation projects are also transforming Altona, Thomastown, Lalor and Springvale.
Project funding has been provided through the Building Works Fund, and the Victorian Budget 2020/21.
