A Point Cook man who never checks his TattsLotto tickets got the surprise of a lifetime when he received a call revealing his sensational $2.2 million windfall in the weekend's draw.
The Melburnian held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4583, drawn Saturday, 21 June 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $2,222,222.23.
"Oh okay, wow!" he laughed when we confirmed the winning news.
"I had no idea. I never check my ticket! I never look at it, I just have a subscription running every week. This is quite the surprise!
"I heard my phone ring earlier while I was enjoying a coffee, but I didn't feel like answering it. Later, when I checked my phone and emails, I saw that The Lott had been trying to contact me.
"I just said, 'Why the hell is The Lott ringing me?'. I was walking around in circles for ages thinking about it, and then I went to work.
"It's so unbelievable!
"I'll spend about $200,000 of it and then invest the rest.
"Thank you very much for the phone call!"
His winning System 7 entry was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
