Police appeal after child approach near Wagga Wagga

Police are appealing for information after a child approach in the Wagga Wagga area yesterday.

About 8.30am yesterday (Wednesday 24 July 2019), a 14-year-old girl was walking to school along Bruce Street, Tolland, when an unknown man called out to her from the other side of the road.

The man asked for her name and made sexually-explicit comments.

The girl immediately turned off Bruce Street and took a different route to school. The incident was reported to the school, who notified police later that day.

The man was describe as being aged 25 to 35, 195cm tall and with a skinny build. He was wearing blue jeans at the time of the alleged offence.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Wagga Wagga Police Station.
