Police appeal after gold bullion found in Kiama

Police have appealed for help in returning gold bullion found at a home in the state’s South Coast last week, NSW Police say.

On Thursday 14 July 2016, a woman attended Lake Illawarra Police Station and handed police a package of gold she had found.

The woman told police she had found a package containing the bullion in the backyard of her Kiama home on Tuesday 12 July 2016.

Checks have revealed it is valued at approximately $20,000 and police have commenced inquires to try and locate the lawful owner.

Police are urging anyone with a claim or information regarding the discovery to contact Lake Illawarra Police Station or Crime Stopers.
