Police appeal after pursuit in stolen painting vehicle at Wagga Wagga

Police are appealing for witnesses following a pursuit in a stolen vehicle earlier today.

Shortly after 7.30am (Friday 13 September 2019), a ute was allegedly stolen from Croker Street in Turvey Park.

The vehicle is described as an older model white Holden Rodeo, with 'John McIntyre Painting' signage on both side panels.

Police gestured for the vehicle to stop on Edward and Docker Street, and when the driver failed to stop a pursuit was engaged.

During the pursuit the passenger jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police engaged in a foot pursuit and arrested the passenger, a 20-year-old man, on Flinders Street.

The vehicle was last seen heading in a northerly direction on Macleay Street, Wagga Wagga about 8.30am.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle to contact Wagga Wagga Police Station on 02 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police inquiries are continuing.
