Police appeal after shooting in Blackheath

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a public place shooting in the Blue Mountains last week.

About 11pm on Thursday 5 September 2019, two men, armed with handguns, entered the rear access door of a licensed premises on Great Western Highway, Blackheath, and shot at a man, narrowly missing him.

Both men fled the scene immediately after and no injuries were reported.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, detectives are now releasing CCTV of two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The men are described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in their early to mid 20s.

One man is depicted wearing a black hoodie and dark pants. The second man is depicted wearing a light brown jacket, dark pants and a baseball style cap.

Police also seek out anyone who may have witnessed two altercations earlier in the evening at the same location between three men. One occurred inside and the other outside on the footpath.
