Police appeal after vehicle damaged by wheelie bin in Ryde

Police are appealing for public assistance after a number of garbage bins were thrown onto a road, damaging a vehicle at Ryde overnight, NSW Police say.

About 1am today, a 63-year-old man was driving on Lane Cove Road when a ‘wheelie bin’ struck the windscreen of his green Toyota Prado.

Police have been told three other bins were thrown by an unknown person or persons from an 8m raised embankment onto the Lane Cove Road off ramp, at the intersection of Victoria Road.

The 63-year-old driver was not injured; however, the Prado’s windscreen was damaged.

Officers from Ryde Local Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
