Police appeal for dash cam footage after Templestowe crash

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a crash in Templestowe this morning.

A passer-by called emergency services after observing a man slumped over the steering wheel of a black Mercedes in Woona Court, Yallambie just before 8am.

Shortly later, officers in the area observed a male driving the hatch, displaying stolen registration AWE 948, on the wrong side of Main Road, Eltham.

The vehicle became stuck in traffic on Williamson Road, near Foote Street, where the driver crashed into a stationary car before driving south towards Doncaster.

No one was injured during the incidents.

The registration plates were stolen sometime overnight from Bass Street, Box Hill.
