Police appeal for dashcam - Serious traffic crash, Ilkley

Police are appealing for any motorists who may have dashcam vision following a serious traffic crash in Ilkley on Monday afternoon (March 29).

Just before 3pm a car travelling west on Ilkley Road and a crane travelling in the opposite direction crashed head-on, near the intersection of Boughens Road.

Two Mooloolah Valley women who were in the car, a 19-year-old driver and a 20-year-old passenger, were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition. The driver of the crane, a 40-year-old Coolum Beach man, was not seriously injured in the accident.

Ilkley Road was closed for several hours while police and emergency services attended the scene.

Forensics Crash Unit investigations continue, and police are appealing for anyone driving along Ilkley Road between 2:45pm and 3:00pm who may have dashcam vision to contact police.
