Police Appeal For Driver To Come Forward After Mitcham Collision

Police are appealing for a driver to come forward after a collision that left a woman with serious injuries in Mitcham last month.

The 48-year-old woman was crossing at the intersection of Springfield and Mitcham roads, when she was hit by a dark-coloured sedan on 29 September about 12.10am.

The female driver got out of her vehicle, before telling the victim she left her phone at home and she needed to leave to call an Ambulance.

The driver left the injured pedestrian at the scene without calling Triple Zero (000) and failed to do so after she left.

The 48-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries where it was found that she suffered from a fractured spine.

Police are appealing for the female driver to come forward.

The driver is described as of Caucasian appearance, late 60's to early 70's, with shoulder length hair and wearing loose leggings and a grey jumper.

Investigators are also keen to speak to anyone that witnessed or has dashcam footage of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
