Police appeal for help to locate vehicle stolen during Drummoyne carjacking

Police are appealing for public assistance following a carjacking in Drummoyne this morning.

About 3.30am (Sunday 31 March 2019), police were called to Bowman Street, Drummoyne, after reports of a carjacking.

Police have been told a 30-year-old man arrived outside a home on Bowman Street just before 3.30am in a white Volkswagen Golf, when he was approached by two men wearing balaclavas while getting out of his car.

One of the men grabbed him around his mouth and pushed him against the car, demanding he hand over his car keys, wallet, and watch.

He handed over the items and went inside the home, while the offenders drove the Volkswagen away in a north-westerly direction on South Street.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command were notified who attended and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for assistance to locate the 2018 white Volkswagen Golf, with NSW registration DWK94E.
