Police appeal for information after aggravated break and enter at Albury

Police are appealing for information following an aggravated break and enter in the state's south yesterday.

About 3am (Saturday 7 December 2019), a man heard a knock at his front door on Thurgoona Street, Albury. Upon opening the door, he was confronted by five unknown men.

The men, all Caucasian in appearance and wearing hooded jumpers, forced their way into the residence before one of them assaulted the man with a box cutter knife and kicked him in the head.

The men have stolen a number of items from the house including house keys, a mobile phone, a laptop, computer tablet and red backpack before leaving the scene.

The man contacted neighbours for assistance who then transferred him to Albury Base Hospital for treatment for a variety of injuries including lacerations to his hand, head and elbow.

Officers from Murray River Police District attended the hospital and commenced inquiries.
