Police appeal for information after firearms stolen at Cowra

Police are appealing for information after several firearms were stolen from a home in the state's Central West.

About 7am Saturday (7 September 2019), officers attached to Chifley Police District received reports five firearms had been stolen from a home on Lachlan Street at Cowra.

Police were told the occupant noticed a garage door to the home was partially opened, before a further check revealed two gun safes had been forced open and their contents were missing.

Five firearms, two scopes and two additional firearms bolts were reported stolen.

Detectives from Chifley Police District attended the home, where they were assisted by Bathurst Crime Scene who completed a specialist forensic examination.

As their investigations continue, they are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
