Police appeal for information following Taylors Lakes petrol theft

Police are appealing for help to identify a man following a petrol theft in Taylors Lakes last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a silver Ford Focus bearing stolen registration plates attended a service station on the Melton Highway about 2.45pm on 21 October.

The driver filled the car up with fuel before getting back into the vehicle and driving away without any attempt to pay.

Detectives have released an image of the man in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his identity.

He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance and aged between 20 and 25 years old.

The man was wearing a black hoody, white T-shirt, dark pants, white shoes and a black hat.

It is believed he had a female passenger with him at the time.

The car is bearing registration plates WZQ400.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
