Police appeal for witnesses following Hume Freeway hit run

Greensborough Highway Patrol members are appealing for witnesses following a hit-run collision at Thomastown earlier today (October 4), Victoria Police say.

The incident occurred on the Hume Freeway between Coopers Street and the Metropolitan Ring Road when a two-door dark green Ford Fiesta veered across a lane and collided with a Suzuki Swift at 2.35pm.

The Fiesta crashed into the front drivers side wheel, causing the Suzuki to spin out of control and colliding heavily with a concrete barrier.

The driver of the Suzuki, a 34-year-old Craigieburn man was assisted from his vehicle but did not require medical attention.

The driver of the Fiesta stopped approximately 100 metres past the collision scene

before driving off.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision or any driver who may have dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
