Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault at licenced premises in St Kilda last week, Victoria Police say.
The incident took place at the Barkly Street premises on 8 July when the victim went to the bar to watch a sporting event around midnight.
While the victim, a 30-year-old St Kilda man, was watching the screen a man walked past and bumped into him.
Several minutes later the man returned and head butted the victim before throwing punches at a number of bystanders.
The victim sustained facial injuries as a result of the assault.
The man was evicted from the bar by security staff.
Police have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their enquires.
