Police appeal to find man last seen in Surry Hills

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man last seen in Surry Hills earlier today.

Asir Asen, 82, was last seen sitting in a car on Lyons Lane, Surry Hills, about 3pm (Monday 28 March 2023); but when his family returned he was not there.

Family members searched for Mr Asen for some time; however, when he could not be located, officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command were notified and they commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Mr Asen's welfare due to his age and a number of medical conditions requiring regular medication. He speaks limited English with his primary language being Turkish, and he may appear disorientated.

Mr Asen is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 73kg, 160cm, with short grey hair and a grey moustache. When last seen he was wearing black pants, a long-sleeved black jacket, white button-up shirt.

He is not familiar with the Sydney CBD.
