Police appeal to find man with autism missing from Strathfield

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a man with special needs missing from his home in Strathfield.

Matthew Abiassaf, aged 18, was last seen about 7.30pm (Wednesday 14 April 2021), at his home in Homebush Road.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command and his family have concerns for Matthew's well-being as he has not done this before.

Police have been told Matthew has autism and becomes distressed around strangers, appearing disoriented and can appear to be physically shaking.

Matthew is described as being of Caucasian appearance about 165cm tall with a slim build, olive complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.

At the time he left his home he was wearing a red "Dragons" hoodie, black tracksuit pants and possibly ADIDAS joggers.

He is known to frequent the Strathfield Train Station precinct; however, searches of the area have failed to find him.

Anyone who knows of Matthew's whereabouts, or who may have seen him in the past two hours, is urged to contact Auburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
