Police are appealing for public assistance to find a teenaged boy missing from Sydney's west.

Police have been told 16-year-old Ronald Rickett was last seen at a residential care facility in Toongabbie on Tuesday 20 April 2021, and spoke with a carer the following afternoon.

When he had not returned to the facility, he was reported missing to officers at Parramatta Police Area Command on Saturday (24 April 2021); despite extensive inquiries, he has not been found.

Police and Ronald's carers hold concerns for his wellbeing as he is described as being on the autism spectrum and does not have an Opal card or cash. His mobile phone appears to be switched off or has gone flat.

Ronald is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a medium build, about 162cm tall, 72kg, with black hair and brown eyes. It's not known what he was wearing at the time.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about Ronald's whereabouts, or anyone who may have seen him in the past week, to call Parramatta Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
