Police Appeal To Locate Elderly Man At Gunnedah

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man reported missing from the Oxley Police District.

John Parkes, aged 80, was last seen just after 2.00pm today (Tuesday 13 January 2026) at Rodney Street, Gunnedah.

When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Oxley Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family have concerns for John's welfare due to his age.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall with medium build, balding grey hair and green eyes.

He was driving a grey/blue Mazda 3 hatchback with NSW registration BTF 29N.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged to call Gunnedah Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
