Police Appeal To Locate Man Missing From Darlinghurst 9 February

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the Sydney CBD.

Paul Bates, aged 43, was last seen at a medical facility in Darlinghurst, on Saturday 31 January 2026).

When he was unable to be contacted or located officers attached to Kings Cross Police Area Command were notified who commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Paul's welfare as he lives with a number of health conditions.

Paul is described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 175cm tall, solid build, beard and short black hair.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black pants and thongs.

Paul is known to frequent the Darlinghurst, East Gardens, Maroubra Junction and Malabar areas.

Inquiries have established that Paul may have been in the Malabar area about 7am today (Monday 9 February 2026).

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Kings Cross Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 000 333.
