Police appeal to locate man missing from Canterbury

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Sydney's south-west.

John Simon, aged 84, was last seen by family members at his home address on Phillips Avenue, Canterbury, on Sunday 2 October 2022.

He was spoken by family members via phone on Tuesday 4 October 2022. He has failed to make contact with family since that day.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for John's welfare as it is out of character for him not to contact family.

He is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 180cm, medium build with short black/greying hair.

John is believed to be wearing a grey jacket, navy jeans and black shoes.

He is known to frequent the Canterbury shopping centre and uses buses to get around.

Anyone who has seen John, or has information about his whereabouts, is urged to contact Campsie Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
