Police appeal to locate man missing from Lismore

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing on the state's north coast.

Michael Watts, aged 42, was last seen leaving a home on Ethan Place Goonellabah, just before 6pm on Thursday (7 October 2021).

Officers from Richmond Police District were notified after he failed to return and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Michael was last seen on Oliver Avenue and a coordinated search, with the assistance of NSW SES, was conducted of surrounding bushland yesterday (Friday 8 October 2021) and continued today.

He is yet to be located and despite having extensive bush survival skills, concerns are held for his welfare.

Michael is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, of medium build, with dark coloured hair and a long beard.

He was last seen wearing black shorts, and a singlet. He was carrying a hessian sling and had no shoes on.
