Police appeal to locate missing elderly man at Newcastle

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Newcastle.

Charles Bourne, aged 81, was last seen at an aged care facility on Christo Road, Waratah West, about 7.45am today (Friday 12 January 2024).

Officers from Newcastle City Police District have since been notified of his disappearance and immediately commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Family and police hold serious concerns for Charles's welfare due to his age.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of thin build with grey balding hair.

He walks with a limp and was last seen wearing a light-green checked shirt, khaki pants, brown shoes, and glasses.

He may be carrying a green 'Woolworths' bag and an orange-coloured bag.
