Police appeal to locate missing man at Newcastle

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Newcastle.

James "Jim" Short – aged 62 – was last seen in the vicinity of Vickers Street, Mayfield, about 9.40am today (Friday 15 October 2021).

He was reported missing to officers from Newcastle City Police District, who commenced inquiries to locate him.

Police and family hold serious concerns for Mr Short's welfare.

James is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, with brown hair.

He is believed to have been wearing grey tracksuit pants, a blue shirt, a blue/green coat and thongs.

Anyone with information about James' whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.
