Police appeal to locate teen missing from Cringila

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage girl missing from the state's south.

Sarah Abbas, aged 14, was last seen at her home on Newcastle Street, Cringila, about 9pm on Friday (18 August 2023).

When she could not be located, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were notified on Saturday (19 August 2023) and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Family and police hold concerns for her welfare due to her young age.

Sarah is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 145cm tall, of thin build, with dark brown hair and brown eyes.

It is believed Sarah may have travelled to Sydney.

She was last seen wearing black tights and a grey jumper.

Anyone who sees Sarah or has information about her whereabouts is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
