Police appealing for info following stabbing in Campsie

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance following a stabbing in Sydney’s south-west last month, NSW Police say.

About 9.30pm on Thursday 7 April 2016, a 35-year-old man was approached by a second man at a licensed venue on Beamish Street, Campsie.

Police have been told the men were involved in a physical altercation on Clissold Parade, when the 35-year-old was stabbed.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital where he underwent surgery for multiple stab wounds.

The second man was last seen running south on Beamish Street.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command were notified and commenced investigations.

Detectives have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The depicted man is described as having a dark complexion, aged about 35-years-old and about 175cm tall. He is shown wearing grey shorts and a black t-shirt.

As a result of recent investigations police believe the man may be in Melbourne.
