Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an alleged aggravated assault.
The incident occurred outbound on the Stuart Highway near the bus stop outside Knuckey Lagoon around 4:30pm on Thursday 7 February 2019. A male was observed assaulting a female on the bike path.
Members of the public came to the aid of the victim and as a result a 49-year-old male was taken into custody.
Police ask anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
