Police appeals for help to locate bushwalker at Blue Mountains

A search is underway for an Italian national believed to be missing in bushland in the Blue Mountains.

Mattia Fiaschini, 24, was last seen on CCTV leaving Blackheath Railway Station on Wednesday 29 January 2020.

The man, a resident of Surry Hills, is believed to have travelled to the Blue Mountains for a day hike.

The following day (Thursday 30 January 2020), he was reported missing after he did not arrive at work in Alexandria, in Sydney's inner-city.

Mattia is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 175 -180cm tall, with a thin build, dark hair and eyes, and a Darth Vader tattoo on his right forearm.

He was last seen wearing a black cap, grey shirt, black shorts and grey hiking boots.
