Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Templestowe Lower on Friday evening.
Investigators have been told an 89-year-old man was crossing Andromeda Way at George Street about 5.45pm.
It is believed that as he crossed the road a Toyota Hilux turned right from George Street into Andromeda Way and struck the 89-year-old.
The Doncaster man was taken to hospital with critical injuries and later died.
The driver involved in the collision, a 34-year-old Templestowe Lower man, has been assisting police with their enquires.
