Police are investigating a fatal crash in Mount Waverley this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Monash Freeway where it's believed a car left the road while travelling city-bound, and struck a steel pole about 3.40am.
The male driver, who is yet to be formally identified, sadly died at the scene.
No one else was in the vehicle and the exact cause is being investigated.
